In Memory of Cora Elvera Fjelstad

Cora Elvera Fjelstad, a daughter of Julius and Andrena (Stene) Fjelstad, was born in February 5, 1912, at Bryant, South Dakota. She died at the Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Monday evening, May 8, 1989 at the age of 77 years.

Cora has been a life long resident of the Bryant community. She graduated from high school in 1931. After her graduation she operated a cafe during the 1930's. She helped start and operate the Bryant school hot lunch program where she worked for many years. In later years she served as custodian at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church where she was a member for many years. She also worked as a cook for several summers at the Enemy Swim Bible Camp.

Cora's faith, her family, and her friends were the most important parts of her life. She is survived by her son, Charles and his wife Donna Fjelstad of Pierre, S.D.; three grandchildren, Linda, Max, and Mary Fjelstad of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and two sisters, Evelyn Benning of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Alcedes Nielsen of Harbor City, California.
