Note: This article gives us the names of Alfred Stadem's step-sisters, who were daughters of Gurina Erickson from her first marriage, and after hr husband died she married Peder Stadem and had two sons by him, Melvin & Norman Stadem, besides combining her Erickson family with Peder's into a blended family. Peder was a widower, and Gurina was a widow, but both of young enough age to have more children in their second marriages.

Mrs. Gina Larson is a daughter of Gurina, and her name had been Erickson. She lived to the ripe age of 83 and had many offspring--four daughters and six sons--plus three sons who died previously to her own passing to Glory--which makes a total of 13 chldren!

This article is valuable, as it gives this history to us, which is rare for us to receive from any source. Alfred Stadem is named as Mrs. Gina Larson's step-brother.--Ed.

Mrs. Gina Larson, 83, died Aug. 17 in the Community Hospital of Rolla, N.D., following a year's illness. Infirmities incident in her advanced age caused her death.

Services were held at Foley's Funeral Chapel in Rolla, Monday at 8 a.m. Rev. Lester Carlson of Our Savior's Lutheran Church officiated. On August 19 at 2 p.m., services were conducted in Rose Hill church at Des Lacs, N.D, with the Rev. Alfred Wiger officiating. On Wednesday, Aig. 20, services were held in American Lutheran church in Bryant, Rev. H. Johanson officiating.

Interment was in the American Lutheran cemetery at Bryant, Foley Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements at the North Dakota cities, while Ahrens Funeral Home was in charge of the service here.

A daughter of Michael and Gurina Erickson, Gina Erickson was born Jan. 22, 1875 at Baltic, S.D., where she lived until her marriage there, Jan. 2, 1895, to Olaf Larson.

They lived alternately in the Bryant and Des Lacs, N.D. areas, and were in the Des Lacs community at the time of Mr. Larson's death in 1927. She lived with her children in both those communities until three years ago when she went to Rolla to make her home with her son there. The deceased held her membership in the American Lutheran church in Bryant.

Four daughters and six sons suvive. They are Mrs. Carl Ladwig (Mabel), Mrs. LeRoy Edleman (Esther), Mrs. Howard Richarson (Alice), Gilbert and Olvin, all of this community; Mrs. Emil Opland (Olga), and Leonard, of Des Lacs, N.D.; Oscar and Iver of Minot, and Elmer of Rolla. Three sons had died previously.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Caroline Brekke and Mrs. Marie Klunseth, both of Bryant; a step-sister, Caroline (Stadem) McLeod in California, and a step-brother, Alfred Stadem of Bryant. There are 28 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.
