"How Pearl Stopped a Runaway Windmill"

One day it was very windy on the Farm and I saw the windmill was
spinning so fast that it wasn't going to last at that rate. It didn't sound right either and was maybe broken already. I had to do something, but what? We needed the windmill, and it could be ruined by the strong wind that was
making it run out of control like that. Mama didn't know what to do, but I did. "I can fix it," I thought, though this was dangerous man's work, not a little girl's normally. "I'll be praying for you!" said Mama, and she prayed! I climbed up the windmill and when I got to the spot where the moving parts were leading to the whirling blades, I saw just what I needed to do. I could have been hurt but God was with me. I pushed the wooden part going up and down that drew the water up, it rammed against the frame and the windmill's whirling blades stopped! When I got back to the ground, Mama looked at me amazed that I could do such a thing as save the windmill. Usually, it took a grown man to do that kind of work! But God helped me!
